Essential Oils Lemongrass Cymbopogon citratus Family Poaceae (Gramineae)

Native to Asia, there are two types, West Indian Lemongrass and East Indian Lemongrass. A perennial ,aromatic, fast growing grass reaching 1.5m( 4ft) high.

Essential Oils Extraction: steam distillation of the fresh or partially dried leaves.

Colour: West Indian-reddish amber. East Indian-Yellow

Aroma: Lemony, very sweet. West.I.has a lighter fragrance.

Essential Oils Possible Uses: Insect repellent, athletes foot, mucular aches and pains, increase milk production in breastfeeding mothers, colic, indigestion, fevers, headaches, nervous exhaustion and stress related conditions. Analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, bactericidal, deodorant, galactagogue, insecticidal, uplifting, refreshing, tonic, stimulant

Blends: Bergamot, Chamomile, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, patchouli, palmarosa, rosemary
